Every artist that enters the entertainment industry was inspired by someone or something. SZA told Pharrell and Scott Vener she really never wanted to sing because she enjoys listening to music so much.

“Doing music seemed like a job, Like a burden that would remove the joy of listening to it. Like I don’t listen to music anymore but not because.. (She Pauses briefly) —I think It’s probably because I do it. At The time when I was younger, all I did was listen to music I didn’t do anything else”.

SZA further explained that her time consisted of doing gymnastics and running track in her late teens. Her brother whose name is (Daniel), inspired her to sing by way of getting her involved with his musical project, and from there, her history was made.
