Public Enemy’s “Fight The Power” Will Enter The Grammy Hall Of Fame (Video)

18 Jan

Public Enemy’s classic single “Fight The Power” will be inducted into the Grammy Hall Of Fame. This isn’t the first time this group has been inducted because back in 2013, P.E. was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame making them fourth Hip Hop group to be in the company of greatness.

The single comes from their critically acclaimed album Fear Of Black Planet, and made it’s way on Spike Lee’s Do The Right Thing classic film. Back in the mid 80s the outcry from the war on drugs, violence, police brutality among other things happening in urban communities — spawned these guys to speak out and be a voice for the people.

Neil Portnow On Embracing Change: The Grammy Hall of Fame strives to embody the changing climate of music throughout these past decades, always acknowledging the diversity of musical expression for which the academy has become known. “Iconic and inspiring, these recordings are an integral part of our musical, social, and cultural history, and we are proud to have added them to our growing catalog.

Congratulations to Public Enemy. Check out their video below.
