Billboard Names Their 10 Greatest Rappers Of All Time, Did They Get It Right?

23 Mar

Billboard magazine is coming under heavy fire from Hip Hop fans who feels like their favorite rapper should’ve made the list. When you say “Greatest Rappers Of All Time” it doesn’t mean who sold the most or craziest flow, it’s about if you can impact a generation of Hip Hop fans, and rappers all at the same time. Every rapper they’ve named on this list are great lyricist, no doubt about it, but can somebody tell us why 2pac Shakur is not up there with The Notorious B.I.G.?

We think that’s below disrespectful when you don’t have the most influential rapper of all time on your list, but hey, keywords, “It’s their list”. For great measures, you might as well throw Big Pun up there next to Biggie beings though both artist only made two multi-platinum albums while alive. Easy to argue the case for Eminem, Jay-Z & Nas, but others we’re not so sure of.

LiL Wayne has a huge catalog of music he’s put out over the years and still have tons of unreleased music that are yet to see the light of the day, so I can see why they put him up there. Kendrick Lamar just burst on the scene 5 years ago and though he’s a great lyricist, we think they are a little over their heads with putting him on their list.

For arguments sake, here’s a our top 10 below.

1. 2pac Shakur – Hands Down.

2, Krs One – Hands Down

3. Rakim – Undeniable

4. Talib Kweli – Highly Underrated

5. Tech N9ne – Highly Underrated

6. Redman – Highly Underrated

7. Jadakiss – Underrated but never faded

8. Eminem – Super Dope Lyricist

9. Jay-Z- God MC Flow

10. The Notorious Big – Incredible flow.

Let us know who’s your top 10 greatest of all time below. Sound off.
